Concrete DIY: How to Make a DIY Concrete Vase with a Mailing Tube

Make a concrete vase (or a concrete planter) with one clever office supply…a mailing tube!

I feel a physical kick coming on again, after this concrete bookend project and this candle votive DIY. And I'thou kind of loving it. Apparently…

Because I have another concrete DIY to share today and this i is my favorite even so. Might have something to do with the fact that it involves flowers.

I made this super easy DIY concrete vase (call up the sneak peek on IG last week?) and had to share the tutorial because it'south so freakin' easy. Also, spring! And flowers!

Materials for Concrete Vase / Concrete Planter

  • rapid setting cement mix (available on Amazon)
  • mailing tube
  • small juice glass
  • cooking spray
  • plastic bucket
  • saucepan (that is okay to get messed up)
  • water
  • trowel or wooden spoon for mixing

How To Make a Concrete Vase / Concrete Planter

Footstep ane: Mix cement and h2o.

Add the cement mix to a bucket, and stir in h2o.You'll need 4 parts cement to 1 role water.Mix well.

Stride 2: Spray the within of mailing tube.

Spray the within of a mailing tube with cooking spray.

Stride iii: Pour concrete mixture into mailing tube.

So, start pouring the concrete mixture into the mailing tube. Only fill about halfway.

Step 4: Place the jar within the concrete mix in the mailing tube, before information technology starts to gear up.

Place the juice glass inside the mailing tube, pressing down and then that the physical starts to push upwards, surrounding the sides of the glass. If more concrete mixture is needed, spoon it into the mailing tube, in between the sides and the juice glass.

Step 5: Look for concrete to dry.

Wait for the concrete to dry. If yous're using a rapid setting physical, it should exist completely dry in three-5 hours (depending on the temperature, etc).

Stride vi: Rip the mailing tube away from the physical.

In one case dry, rip the container away to reveal your new vase. Fill up with water and add flowers. Done!

  • pocket-size juice glass
  • cooking spray
  • plastic bucket
  • bucket that is okay to become messed upwards
  • h2o
  • trowel or wooden spoon for mixing
  • Add the cement mix to a bucket, and stir in water. Youll need iv parts cement to one office water. Mix well.

  • Spray the inside of a mailing tube with cooking spray.

  • Then, showtime pouring the physical mixture into the mailing tube. Simply fill virtually halfway.

  • Place the juice glass inside the mailing tube, pressing down and so that the concrete starts to push upwards, surrounding the sides of the drinking glass. If more physical mixture is needed, spoon information technology into the mailing tube, in betwixt the sides and the juice drinking glass.

  • Wait for the concrete to dry. If you're using a rapid setting concrete, information technology should exist completely dry in 3-five hours (depending on the temperature, etc).
